Unlike other National Groups at Coming to the Table, Writers operate differently. There are no group meetings scheduled (writers, after all, typically do most of their work alone). Writers within CTTT are offered opportunities to utilize your talents to further the CTTT Vision and Mission. Coming to the Table informs writers about media requests (see the News page), opportunities to submit stories for periodicals and books – such as Slavery’s Descendants and The Little Book of Racial Healing (see below) – and to submit stories for BitterSweet, the CTTT blog managed by the Linked Descendants Working Group. One additional opportunity offered by Linked Descendants is Writing Pods (small, self-managed groups of writers supporting each other’s writing efforts). We strongly encourage writers within the CTTT community to check out all that Linked Descendants and BitterSweet have to offer.
