We’ve been meeting on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays over Zoom. We are on hiatus until the end of 2023 to plan upcoming activities after a successful spring education program. Stay tuned for updates in the Winter! (PLEASE NOTE: we will continue meeting “virtually” for the foreseeable future and invite YOU to join us, regardless of where you live. Complete the contact form below for more information)
In our ongoing reparations-focused series we’ll explore themes of racial justice in multiple areas of modern life, noting how the through-lines of our history shape our experiences. In homework assignments during our spring grant cycle, we’ll look at the economic impacts of our history of institutional racism in the areas of land and food systems, community health, education and the creative arts. During our online events, attendees will learn about national trends in repair and healing in these areas and will engage in conversation with our grantees, whose work is focused on healing the Black communities of Colorado. While we plan to have some formal presentations, much of what we will discuss will be “crowd-sourced” – the more experiences, questions and stories you bring to the table, and the more of the assigned materials you read in advance, the better our discussion. We’ll also discuss concrete actions people can take to unwind harm, including participating in our volunteer programs. Typical sessions include presentations, Q and A sessions, grantee speaker panels and breakout group discussions.
Please scroll down for the monthly calendar of events; a different vector will be discussed each month. Each meeting’s description includes complete details for the full years’ worth of meetings. Wherever you live in the world, you’re welcome to join us.
PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to join the Denver Affiliate Group and be added to our email list for future events, we request that you first become a member of CTTT.
