LA – Louisiana’s Creole Cultural Corridor
We welcome new members to Louisiana’s Creole Cultural Corridor CTTT Local Affiliate Group. As we schedule regular meetings, they’ll be listed at the bottom of this page.
We are located within the region known as “plantation country” where more than a dozen plantations are open and available for touring, but only one (Whitney Plantation) focuses on telling the true story of enslavement. Every day descendants of enslaved people face a barrage of traumatic marketing messages aimed at getting visitors to these plantations, while their many health, educational, employment, and emotional needs are ignored. The legacies of slavery are still present in our community, but are not understood as such. We hope that maintaining a Coming to the Table group here will help as we address these legacies and change the narrative about our community.
PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to join Louisiana’s Creole Cultural Corridor Affiliate Group, and be added to our email list for future events, we request that you first become a member of CTTT.
If you have questions, want more information, to be added to our email list, and/or to RSVP, contact us by completing the form below.
