YOU are invited to participate in the monthly conference calls which focus on meditation as a tool for healing wounds related to race. These calls are hosted by the Mindfulness Working Group. We hope you’ll join us. This call will be facilitated by Jennifer Stanley.
Please Note: the Meditation portion of the call WILL be recorded. The Working Group has recorded several meditations and stores them on the CTTT website (HERE) so people can use them whenever they want. This is the portion of the call when everyone except the facilitator is muted. The other portions of the call, when participants introduce yourselves, or have the opportunity to share, will NOT be recorded. In other words, no one, other than the facilitator, will be recorded or identified in the recordings posted on the website. All participants will remain unknown/private. Our goal is to create an atmosphere of safety in community to the best of our ability on a conference call.
These calls are designed for everyone who is interested in learning to meditate or who already has an ongoing meditation practice. Part of each call will be a guided meditation focused on helping us rest deeply in the sacred dimensions of our bodies, our speech and our minds as we face racial wounds with open hearts. Following the meditation session, participants will be invited to share what we experience during our meditation together.
The CTTT Mindfulness & Meditation Working Group hopes you will sign up to participate in any or all of the times you are available as dates/times are announced. If you have not tried meditation, we hope these experiences will give you a tool in your own life to help you navigate difficult waters.
We use a combination of meditation practices, some guided by members of our working group, and others pre-recorded that are relevant to the work of CTTT. You can also utilize the many Resources listed on the CTTT website in your personal practice.
Deadline to RSVP is New Year’s Day, January 1. You’ll receive dial-in details prior to the call on the 4th.
