Transforming Divisive Debates on Critical Race Theory into Useful Dialogues
September 25 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm EDT
Everyone who attended the 2018 National Gathering will recall the enthusiasm we felt during the sessions led by Dr. David Campt. CTTT is excited to announce this new collaboration with David with a workshop just for CTTT members on September 25 at 12:00-3:30pm (Pacific Time); 3:00-6:30pm (Eastern Time).
Across the country, conservative activists are using the controversy about “critical race theory” to activate racial anxieties in advance of the midterm elections coming up next year.
Please read this article, which lays out the challenge well: Critical race theory turning school boards into GOP proving grounds. “I have never, never seen what we’ve been through in the last 18 months — politically, not the pandemic. The depth of the misinformation that people have consumed and believed is frightening.” – Eileen Robinson, a school board member in California’s Chico Unified School District. This training focuses on providing participants with methods to transform these controversies into more honest and useful exchanges about racism public education. This proven training will include a 15-30 minute feedback period at the conclusion of the workshop. Total time commitment is 3.5 hours.
