In Modern Vectors: Transforming Oppression into Liberation we’ll explore each area of modern life, noting how the through-lines of our history shape our experience, as we begin to define what liberation might look like. In each of 12 areas, we’ll explore how this country’s history of institutional racism is expressed. We’ll look at the economic impacts of our history and explore the restorative paths change-makers are creating. While we plan to have some formal presentations, much of what we will discuss will be “crowd-sourced” – the more experiences, questions and stories you bring to the table, and the more of the assigned materials you read in advance, the better our discussion. We’ll also discuss concrete actions people can take to unwind harm. Attendees are encouraged to join local reparations efforts and will be asked to report back on what is happening in our local communities.
