Summer Peacebuilding Institute at Eastern Mennonite University

May 8 - June 16

Please Note: the application deadline for CTTT scholarships has passed. All scholarships for 2017 SPI classes have been awarded.

Coming to the Table is excited to announce the availability of scholarships to attend classes during the Summer Peacebuilding Institute at Eastern Mennonite University in May and June 2017. Thanks to the generosity of the United Service Foundation, the Center for Justice & Peacebuilding, and CTTT, we will be able to provide three or four scholarships to cover the full cost of the training fee plus lodging, or partial scholarships for several additional participants. The amount of funding provided depends upon the number of applicants and the need.

Classes during the first two sessions – May 8-16 and May 18-26 – last seven days (training + shared lodging = approximately $1,820; plus $100 extra for single room). Classes during sessions 3, 4 & 5 – May 29-June 1, June 5-9, and June 12-16 – last five days (training + shared lodging = approximately $1,325; plus $70 extra for single room). Lodging includes lunch during SPI. Participants will be responsible for their other meals (which you can prepare in the dorm where you will stay) as well as transportation costs.

There are several classes relevant to the Vision, Mission and Approach of Coming to the Table. In Session 3, classes include STAR I (Strategies for Trauma Awareness & Resilience), and Restorative Justice. Session 4 classes include Social Media that Matters, and Truth Telling, Reconciliation, and Restorative Justice. Session 5 classes include Circle Processes. Learn more about SPI and all the classes being offered HERE.

Please note: preference will be given to CTTT members who did not receive an SPI scholarship last year.

Many Coming to the Table members have taken SPI classes over the past decade and have found them exceedingly meaningful and useful for their work. Your class at SPI, and the relationships you build there, will last a lifetime!
