Coming to the Table offers regularly scheduled conference calls focused on meditation as a tool for healing wounds related to race. Several CTTT members have suggested we offer a class for people new to meditation. Here it is!
Meditation and mindfulness practices are powerful tools to help people see reality clearly. We see more clearly the roots and expression of racism and prejudice, with both wisdom and compassion for ourselves and others. These practices also help us to be more clear-minded when facing danger, and with sustained practice, they can help us develop confidence, courage, and find equanimity in the midst of turmoil and change. Meditation and mindfulness practices are a refuge for the heart in our world of uncertainty.
During this call we’ll explore some basics of meditation practice: Posture, mindfulness techniques, meditation anchors, and working with thoughts and emotions. We’ll also talk about ways to establish, energize, and support your practice, as well as where additional resources can be found.
This call will be facilitated by Jennifer Stanley, and it WILL be recorded so others can learn from it in the future.
The Meditation Working Group has also developed a powerful list of Resources on the CTTT website for you to utilize in your personal practice
Please RSVP here. Deadline to RSVP is Tuesday, September 12, 2017
