Here’s what a few folks said of the 2014 National Gathering:

Where else can African Americans and European Americans gather in a setting where good will and openness toward each other are givens? Where we have respectful yet deep and honest conversations about race and the legacy of slavery?

Coming to the National Gathering meant spending my most precious resource – time – but the few short days helped me advance in my understanding by light years.”

At a time in our nation’s life when there is so much disheartening news about race, it is heartening to spend four days with scores of people who are working to address the wounds of slavery.”

It feels like home.”
